Music teachers from the Harrow Music Service provide music lessons to  small groups on the steel pans, tabla, harmonium, sitar, violin, guitar, flute, recorder, keyboard and drum kit.

Costs are currently as follows:

  • Guitar, violin, keyboard, Indian Instruments, flute, drum kit, recorder: £150 for the academic year or £75 if your child is eligible for free school meals. (You have the option to pay for the whole year or split the cost in two payments)
  • Steel Pans: £135 for the academic year or £67.50 if your child is eligible for free school meals.  (You have the option to pay for the whole year or split the cost in two payments).

Payments are non-refundable unless your child leaves the school during term time.

Payment is to be made online by using ‘Parent Pay’. This enables you to credit your child’s music tuition account online. If you need a ParentPay account please speak to the staff in the School Office.

Pupils need to commit to a year of lessons (3 terms) because little can be achieved by stopping after one term.

Pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 have the opportunity to learn the trumpet and the clarinet in their weekly Bb Project lessons.

Children have many opportunities to perform at various instrumental festivals and events throughout the year including at the Harrow Arts Centre and at the School Spring Concert.
