Global Learning

Glebe Primary School highly values the importance of our global work and the links that we have established with our international partners and local schools over the years.
We see global learning as an integral part of our school vision and our curriculum. It is embedded in our School Improvement Plan. We believe that in today’s society we have a responsibility to ensure that our pupils, parents and staff are aware of local and global issues and are able to develop as responsible global citizens. We take pride in celebrating the cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity represented in our school and in the local community. As a ‘Rights Respecting School’ pupils are encouraged to be confident learners and to show respect for themselves and others in order that they are able to live and work in a changing world.
The school’s well-established Global Team work with others to provide a range of learning opportunities for pupils to explore the global dimension through a variety of contexts, and develop their awareness of major global issues.
International Schools Award
The school holds the International Schools Award at outstanding level and has done so for many years. This award is accredited by the British Council and recognises how:
- we as a school are embedding international learning across the school and curriculum,
- we share educational practice with partners in other countries and implement changes across the school,
- we are disseminating our learning to other schools.
The school is currently involved in a number of projects with our international partner schools which build upon the many valuable international projects we have taken part in over the years. Please explore the tabs to find out more.
