Pupil Premium Allocation

What is Pupil Premium?

Children who have been eligible for free school meals at any point in time have consistently lower educational attainment than those who have never been eligible for free school meals. Since 2011 schools have received additional funding from the government, the Pupil Premium, to enable them to raise the educational attainment of this group of pupils. Schools receive an allocation of funding for all pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years. Schools can decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since they are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils to support their progress and development.
