Design Technology
Design Technology at Glebe Primary SchoolDesign and Technology is an inspiring, creative and practical subject. At Glebe we believe that every pupil should have the opportunity to develop the creative, technical and practical expertise needed to perform everyday tasks confidently. Pupils learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world. |

FacilitiesDesign Technology is taught weekly in our specialist Art and Design Technology Room. Our curriculum is designed to provide pupils with the opportunity to use their creativity and imagination, to design and make products that solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts, considering their own and others’ needs, wants and values. |
FacilitiesWe also have a Food Technology room that pupils use as part of Design Technology units. This allows pupils to learn the skills involved in food storage, handling, preparing, cooking and the safe use of equipment. During their time at Glebe pupils will learn about a range of different cuisines and styles of cooking. This aspect of our curriculum reinforces our whole school healthy living agenda. |
