Rights Respecting School (RRS)

Class Charters

Every class has developed their own charter based on the UNCRC. The School Council ensured that the charters were using the correct format and were presented to a high standard.

Day for Change

Every year we raise money for Unicef and promote the UNCRC in a Day for Change. We have celebrated Day for Change in different ways. We have created our own t-shirt designs, created a whole school rainbow and carried out projects linked to the Global Goals.

RRS Mascot

We held a RRSA Mascot competition. Every child had the chance to enter the competition and many children took part. The winner was chosen by the School Council and the mascot will be used on posters and displays around the school.

Unicef Youth Panel

On Friday 8th February 2019 we were privileged to be invited to attend the first Youth Panel at Unicef UK in Stratford. Four Year 6 pupils attended the event and were asked to share our Rights Respecting journey in a presentation to other schools. The pupils also took part in activities, games and provided their ideas and opinions on various topics.

WE Day

On Wednesday 4th March, 23 excited Year 6 pupils travelled to Wembley Arena for WE Day. WE Day is an annual event organised for schools that have made a difference in their schools and community by making a change. Throughout the day the pupils listened to inspirational speakers and heard about projects from other schools. The event was supported by a number of celebrities, including Idris Elba, Lewis Hamilton, Jamie Oliver and Leona Lewis.  At Glebe we aim to guide the development of responsible citizens and, by using resources that are provided by the WE organisation, we will continue to emphasise this aim through the wider curriculum.
